Claire Hermans
is a professional performer/maker, creative producer and movement teacher based in The Hague, The Netherlands

  • Performer/maker

    Performer

Since graduating in 2016 from the BA Contemporary Dance program at Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, Claire has been active as a versatile performer. Her background in dance, acting, singing, and circus arts (including hand balancing and partner acrobatics) enables her to seamlessly navigate between disciplines.

She collaborates with a wide range of choreographers and creators on diverse projects, ranging from large-scale stage productions to intimate site-specific performances, as well as dance films and art installations. For dance on film, she is represented by The Movers. An overview of current and past projects can be found on the Performer/maker page.

    Maker

As a maker, Claire often collaborates with Tijmen Teunissen. Their first independent creation, Plastic Life, premiered in 2024 in Korzo Theater. Their joint work moves between dance, visual arts/installation, and physical theatre. Together, they explore social themes and the emotional landscapes connected to them, translating these into a strong visual world where audience proximity and engagement are essential.

Currently, they are working on a new performance that will premiere in 2026 in Korzo Theater. In addition, Claire is also active as a maker with Plan d-, where she contributes to the creation of youth dance/music-theatre productions.

An overview of current and past projects can be found on the Performer/maker page.

  • Creative producer

Claire has gradually stepped into the role of creative producer, a natural development considering her personality and skill set.

With strong organizational abilities, clear and calm communication, a strong sense of responsibility, proactive mindset, hands-on attitude, and a deep love for Excel spreadsheets, she has grown into a confident and efficient producer.

What began as assisting with production tasks in the company where she was dancing has evolved into producing performances for organizations such as Korzo Theatre, Firma MES, and Salomé Mooij/SoAP Maastricht.

She also manages all production tasks for the creation and touring of her own work. Her artistic background enriches her producing role. She often contributes creatively during the process and has a natural empathy for the needs of performers.

An overview of current and past projects can be found on the Producer page.
